Iona Unsold

After my visit (first) to the Isle of Iona in August 2024 I made the photos I took into a book. I then had an exhibition for which I made photos of the book into wall art. Some photos sold some did not. (See more photos in the blog ‘One Week On Iona’)
I’ve learned not to be precious about my artworks. I might hang on to things for a while, re-work it or simply put it in the bin or recycling. I suppose living in small and rented spaces and wanting to travel light, informs this attitude.
I have a fascination with Caran D’Ache’s Neocolor II aquarelle pastels. I feel though tha I haven’t yet found my way with it YET. I thought the lovely paper that the photographs for the exhibition are printed on (Hahnemuele bamboo) is a great place to play and experiment.
I did two takes in my re-work. First dry pastel and then washed.
